Ninety-four Pakistani students gathered in Islamabad this week, preparing to travel to the United States for their undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Organized by EducationUSA Pakistan at the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), the annual pre-departure orientation provided students important guidance regarding academic expectations, campus services, and effectively adjusting to American cultural life.
The program welcomed students heading to the United States at various educational stages, including bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral level programs. Students gained deeper insights into navigating American universities and succeeding academically. Orientation sessions emphasized classroom settings, academic culture, and utilizing valuable campus resources.
Additionally, the event offered practical advice on adapting comfortably to life in a new cultural environment. Participants benefited from the experiences of alumni who previously completed academic journeys abroad and current students who provided advice on managing academic pressure, balancing campus activities, and engaging meaningfully with diverse student bodies.
Parents and family members also actively participated in the orientation, bringing their invaluable perspectives and expressing strong support for students preparing to study overseas. Alumni shared personal guidance and encouragement, helping to ease concerns and instill confidence in departing students as they embark on this significant academic milestone.
