A large spiritual gathering at Dargah Mu’alla Gulshan-e-Sultan-ul-Hind, Ajmeri, near the New Islamabad Airport marked the 1500-year celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, drawing devotees from Rawalpindi, Islamabad and nearby areas to honor the Prophet Muhammad. The event, led by senior custodians of the Ajmer Sharif shrine, featured Quran recitation, devotional poetry, religious sermons, the ziyarat of the Prophet’s sacred hair and communal prayers, concluding with the distribution of langar.

The program was overseen by Sheikh-ul-Mashaikh Hazrat Khwaja Dewan Syed Aaly Habib Ali Khan, the Sajjada Nashin (custodian) of Ajmer Sharif. The shrine complex and the adjoining Jamia Masjid Moeeniya Chishtiya were illuminated with electric lights, creating a festive atmosphere as large numbers of worshippers assembled to participate in the observances.

Formal proceedings commenced after the Maghrib prayer with Khatm-ul-Quran and Khatm Khawajgan Chisht, followed by recitations from the Holy Qur’an and moving naats performed by prominent reciters from Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Religious scholars addressed the congregation, delivering sermons that emphasized the importance of following the Prophet’s example in daily life.

In his address, Pirzada Syed Aaly Wajhi Moeeni Ajmeri, identified as the crown prince and successor to the Sajjada Nashin of Ajmer Sharif, said that love and respect for the Prophet form the foundation of faith. He cited the Companions and the Ahl al-Bayt as models who lived in the Prophet’s company and demonstrated how to uphold his teachings. He also paid tribute to Khwaja Gharib Nawaz, the revered Sufi saint, describing him as embodying the Prophet’s sunnah and honoring him with the title Aata-e-Rasool (Gift of the Prophet).

The gathering reached a spiritual peak with the ziyarat of the sacred hair, an event cherished by attendees. At the close of the ceremonies, Dewan Syed Aaly Habib Ali Khan led special prayers for the well-being of the Muslim community and for the prosperity of Pakistan. Participants then shared langar, reinforcing a sense of unity and communal devotion as the event concluded.
