Pakistan Joins Global Partners to Mark World Day Against Trafficking, Calls for United Action
Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to combating human trafficking by joining hands with international organizations to mark the World Day Against Trafficking. Government agencies and global partners, including the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), and the International Refugee Rights Association (IRARA), have come together to send a strong message: “Human Trafficking is Organized Crime – End Exploitation.”
Authorities highlighted that coordinated international efforts are crucial to dismantle criminal networks involved in trafficking and to protect vulnerable groups from exploitation. The FIA, in collaboration with its partners, is focused on enhancing justice, fostering better coordination, and increasing public awareness to break the cycle of modern slavery.
Stakeholders underscored that raising awareness is vital to protect those at risk and to prosecute those responsible for trafficking offenses. The day serves as a reminder of the global nature of human trafficking and the need for collective action. Pakistan’s engagement with its international counterparts aims to reinforce existing mechanisms and expand capacity-building initiatives to address the growing challenge of human trafficking.
The united front presented by Pakistan and its partners demonstrates a shared resolve to safeguard human rights and promote justice. The collective message is clear: only through justice, coordination, and awareness can the global community effectively fight exploitation and end the scourge of human trafficking.
