An Ethiopian delegation took part in a tree plantation drive at Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim in Karachi to promote environmental cooperation and strengthen ties between Ethiopia and Pakistan. The event, organized under the “Plant Fraternity” initiative, aimed to symbolize solidarity and friendship between the two countries.
The high-level Ethiopian delegation was joined by officials from the Ministry of Climate Change Sindh, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, and other stakeholders. The plantation activity was led by Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Ambassador Extraordinary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Pakistan, alongside Zubair Ahmed Channa, Secretary of Climate Change in Sindh.
A large number of participants attended the drive, including members of the Ethiopian delegation, representatives from the Sindh government, business leaders, environmental experts, academics, youth, media, and civil society members. Together, they planted saplings as a gesture of fraternity and cooperation, highlighting the shared commitment of both countries to address environmental challenges and foster stronger diplomatic ties.
