FIA Immigration at Islamabad International Airport intercepted two passengers attempting to board a flight to Italy after officers identified suspected fake travel documents. The travellers, identified as Fayyaz Ahmad and Nauman Ali, were booked on Etihad flight EY303 bound for Italy.

On inspection, the Italy resident cards presented by the men were found to be counterfeit, and their passports contained forged Pakistani and Italian immigration stamps. Both travellers are reported to be residents of Mandi Bahauddin.

Preliminary inquiries indicate the two obtained the fake travel documents from different agents for substantial sums. FIA Immigration officials offloaded the passengers at Islamabad Airport and referred the matter to the Anti Human Trafficking Circle Islamabad for further legal action.

An FIA spokesperson said further investigation is ongoing and that the agency will pursue all necessary legal measures in coordination with relevant authorities.
