FDE accelerates EdTech initiatives to modernize Islamabad schools through teacher training and digital tools to improve classroom learning and equity.

The Federal Directorate of Education, following directions from Federal Secretary Education Mr. Nadeem Mahbub, is accelerating the rollout of EdTech initiatives across public schools to modernize teaching and learning practices.

On 9 January 2026 a comprehensive training under the EdTech Digital Interventions program was hosted at IMCG (PG) G-10/4, bringing together 400 educators from schools and colleges. The session served as a practical demonstration of how digital tools and platforms are being integrated into everyday classroom instruction.

The Secretary of Education visited the training and engaged with teachers and institutional leaders, stressing that EdTech initiatives are central to creating inclusive, modern and high-quality learning environments. He highlighted how these interventions can help reduce disparities between urban and rural classrooms and ensure more equitable access to resources.

Use of information technology is enabling teachers to design more engaging, student-centered lessons and to adapt instruction across different learning platforms. Educators at the session reported growing confidence in applying digital methods and expressed readiness to incorporate new tools into daily teaching.

As these EdTech initiatives expand across the capital’s school system, the FDE aims to better prepare both teachers and students for the demands of a technology-driven world while improving learning outcomes and narrowing regional gaps in education.
