Federal Board concludes STEM Activities Week with awards for top student projects in mathematics, science and computer science

The annual STEM Activities Week at the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education concluded today in Islamabad with a high-profile closing ceremony attended by students, teachers and education officials. The event highlighted hands-on student projects across mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and computer science and showcased the Federal Board’s commitment to promoting STEM learning.

Nadeem Mehboob, Federal Secretary for the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, was the guest of honour and offered strong encouragement to the young participants. Recalling his own student days, he said Pakistan’s future rests with talented, hardworking and creatively minded youth and that initiatives like STEM Activities Week play a vital role in preparing that future generation.

The secretary congratulated Federal Board Chairman Dr Ikram Ali Malik and the entire organising team for staging a memorable week of STEM Activities. He underlined that competitive academic events sharpen problem solving and innovation among students and urged continued investment in such programmes across schools and colleges.

Judges evaluated projects presented in scientific competitions and awarded first, second and third positions to the top entries from mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and computer science categories. At the close of the ceremony, Director Test Development Mirza Ali distributed honorary certificates and prize checks to the successful students, recognising their achievements and encouraging further work in STEM.

The programme also featured Quran recitation, naat, national songs and Urdu and English speeches, with more than 500 students taking part and demonstrating diverse talents alongside their scientific projects. The event underlined the Federal Board’s role in fostering STEM Activities at the grassroots level and boosting student confidence in practical science and technology across Islamabad and beyond.
