Federal Cabinet Approves Trilateral Rail Study and Pays Tribute

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad where ministers paid tribute to a soldier killed in a recent operation and approved a tripartite governmental framework agreement to launch a joint feasibility study between Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan aimed at boosting regional trade and connectivity. Cabinet members also reviewed other key national matters during the session.

The meeting was attended by all cabinet members, including Federal Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi. Ministers reviewed the agenda and discussed priorities across ministries.

Cabinet members paid tribute to Major Adnan Aslam, who was killed during the Bannu operation, offering prayers for his soul and expressing condolences to his family. Ministers emphasized national pride in the country’s armed forces and their families, describing the nation’s deep respect for its fallen servicemen.

Acting on a recommendation from the Ministry of Railways, the cabinet approved a tripartite governmental framework agreement to conduct a joint feasibility study with Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. The agreement was described by officials as a strategic milestone intended to strengthen regional trade links and enhance connectivity across the region.

In addition to these items, the cabinet held detailed discussions on several other important national issues, with ministers agreeing to continue follow-up work and coordination across relevant departments.
