Federal Urdu University Holds Grand Convocation; Minister Wajeeha Qamar Praises Institution’s Rising Global Standing
Islamabad (Usman Jabar) — The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) held its grand convocation in Islamabad with remarkable enthusiasm and national pride. The event, themed “National Progress Lies in Education through the National Language,” celebrated the achievements of graduating students, who were awarded degrees and medals for outstanding academic performance.
Minister of State for Education Wajeeha Qamar presided over the ceremony and lauded the university’s role in strengthening its national footprint in higher education and research. She commended the Vice Chancellor, faculty, and administration for their dedication, announcing that the government will take steps to resolve the university’s financial challenges.
The convocation was attended by Members of the National Assembly Anjum Aqeel, Jamal Raisani, and Fathullah as special guests. Faculty members, dignitaries, and parents filled the venue in a festive academic procession led by Vice Chancellor Dr. Zabta Shinwari, Campus Incharge Dr. Saba Bashir, and Additional Incharge Aleem Raza.
Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Zabta Shinwari congratulated the graduating students and emphasized that FUUAST has produced some of Pakistan’s finest intellectuals. He expressed pride that the university has now secured a place in international rankings, reflecting its progress and academic excellence.
Dr. Saba Bashir, Campus Incharge, said the convocation has rekindled motivation and pride among both students and faculty members, noting that the successful organization of the event was the result of collective hard work and visionary leadership.
The convocation proceedings were conducted under the supervision of Additional Registrar Aleem Raza, Dean Faculty of Electrical Engineering Dr. Rahat, and senior faculty members. The ceremony concluded with the Vice Chancellor’s announcement that the next convocation of the Islamabad campus will be held next year.
