On 26 September 2025, the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) formally signed a tripartite development agreement with DHA and the Supreme Court Bar Association for the Margalla Orchard Park Road Housing Scheme. The ceremony took place at the Asifa Jahangir Auditorium in sector G-5, Islamabad, marking a key procedural step for the Margalla Orchard project.

Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Federal Minister for Housing and Works, was the guest of honour and congratulated FGEHA officials, employees and allottees on the landmark agreement. The minister described the arrangement as an important advancement for housing delivery in the capital and extended his best wishes for the scheme’s successful execution.

Azam Nazir Tarar, Federal Minister for Law and Justice, also attended and commended the housing authority’s initiative, calling the Margalla Orchard agreement a historic and welcome development for the legal community. A large gathering of lawyers at the event expressed support for the project and praised the collaborative approach between public bodies and the bar.

Captain (R) Zafar Iqbal, Director General of FGEHA, congratulated all allottees and stressed that the rights of federal employees who have already been allotted plots remain protected. He reiterated FGEHA’s commitment to providing quality, affordable housing to government employees and other segments of society, and described the Margalla Orchard tripartite agreement as a significant link in that ongoing effort.

The Director General announced that development work will also commence shortly in sectors F-14 and F-15 and at the Lifestyle Residency in sector G-13, indicating a broader push by FGEHA to advance multiple housing projects across Islamabad. He expressed confidence that the Margalla Orchard project will help realise allottee expectations and enhance residential standards in the capital.

The agreement between FGEHA, DHA and SCBA sets the stage for practical implementation of the Margalla Orchard Park Road scheme and underscores coordinated public-private cooperation aimed at expanding housing supply for federal employees and the wider community in Islamabad.
