The Center for Law and Justice, with support from the French Embassy in Pakistan, has opened a new Khushhali Book Korner in the city of Jaranwala, expanding its efforts to fight illiteracy among children from disadvantaged backgrounds. The new facility follows the first Khushhali Book Korner established in Lahore, and specifically aims to serve children of sanitation workers who often have limited access to formal education.

The Khushhali Book Corners provide a safe and welcoming environment where children can discover the joy of reading, nurture their curiosity, strengthen critical thinking skills, and foster creativity. By creating these dedicated spaces, the initiative seeks to bridge educational gaps for children who may otherwise lack opportunities for personal and academic growth.

The opening of the Jaranwala Book Korner coincided with Pakistan’s Independence Day, highlighting a message of hope and resilience. Organizers emphasize the power of reading as a transformative tool for empowerment and envision these book corners as a step towards greater educational equity for future generations. The ongoing support from the French Embassy reflects a commitment to promoting education and strengthening ties between France and Pakistan.
