**Government and Business Leaders Reach Consensus on Key Demands in Finance Ministry Meeting**
The government and representatives of Pakistan’s business community have reached a consensus on a series of significant demands during a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Finance. The constructive discussions mark a major step forward in strengthening cooperation and trust between the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
The meeting was presided over by Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on industries and production, and co-chaired by Mr. Bilal Azhar Kayani, Minister of State for Finance. Other key officials in attendance included the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue, Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial, the Prime Minister’s Coordinator Mr. Rana Ehsan Afzal, and FBR Member Operations Mr. Hamid Ateef.
During the session, detailed discussions were conducted on the charter of demands presented by various Chambers of Commerce and Industry. According to Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan, proposals addressing each of the demands were developed and finalized with consensus from all parties. These proposals will soon be submitted to the Prime Minister for formal approval.
Business community representatives expressed their appreciation for the government’s willingness to listen to their concerns and for the concrete steps being taken to address their issues. They commended the administration’s efforts and highlighted the improved atmosphere of mutual engagement.
Officials noted that the meeting sets the stage for a new era of constructive engagement, establishing a stronger working relationship between the FBR and the business sector. This consensus is expected to foster better communication, policy formulation, and responsiveness to the needs of Pakistan’s business community going forward.
