FJWU Students Achieve Yellow Belt in Taekwondo Training

Fatima Jinnah Women University has celebrated a significant achievement as the first cohort of its Pak-Korea Taekwondo Training Programme successfully completed their Yellow Belt Test. This accomplishment marks a major step in the students’ martial arts training and reflects the university’s commitment to promoting women’s empowerment through sports.

The rigorous evaluation was overseen by representatives from the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation and tested participants on a range of skills, including technical abilities, strength, endurance, and self-defense techniques. The event highlighted discipline and physical resilience among the students, demonstrating their dedication and hard work.

Special recognition was given to Master Imran Mehmood, whose expert guidance and training played a vital role in preparing the students for this milestone. The test was conducted in the presence of Ms. Tasawar Riaz, Deputy Director of Fatima Jinnah Women University, underscoring the university’s proactive support for co-curricular activities that build confidence and skills among women.

The university leadership, particularly Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Bushra Mirza, was praised for her vision and encouragement in making such comprehensive development opportunities available for students. Dr. Mirza’s support has been instrumental in nurturing talent and fostering a culture of empowerment.

The next belt test for the programme is set for September 2025. As the current batch celebrates their success, preparations are already underway for the upcoming participants to begin their own journey in Taekwondo. Congratulations were extended to all successful candidates, with the university expressing pride in their achievements.
