At the Central Police Office Peshawar, FOSPAH’s Assistant Registrar Peshawar, working with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and AIG Gender Ms. Anila Naz, led an interactive session attended by women police officers, senior officials, legal experts and women representatives to discuss implementation of the Harassment Act 2010.
The dialogue focused on practical measures under the Harassment Act 2010 to strengthen victim support services, ensure transparent complaint registration and promote safe workplace practices within police institutions. Participants examined national and international frameworks as benchmarks, emphasizing the need for institutional accountability and stronger professional support for victims.
Ms. Anila Naz reiterated KP Police’s commitment, under the leadership of IG Zulfiqar Hameed, to empower women officers and citizens through dedicated women’s desks and responsive procedures. The commitment highlighted ongoing efforts to make complaint mechanisms more accessible and to bolster protection for complainants at every stage.
The session was described as a vital step in deepening collaboration between FOSPAH and KP Police, with both sides agreeing to pursue coordinated training, clearer reporting channels and enhanced support structures. Stakeholders said these measures are intended to make workplaces across the province more equitable and harassment free, reinforcing the objectives of the Harassment Act 2010.
