The Ambassadors of France and Germany presented the 2025 Franco German Prize for Human Rights and the Rule of Law to Pirbhu Satyani in recognition of his dedicated work defending the rights of women, children and minorities.
The award underscores that protection of these rights is a priority for France and Germany as well as for the European Union, drawing renewed international attention to human rights advocacy related to Pakistan.
Satyani succeeds two Pakistani recipients, Sarah Belal and Nayyab Ali, who were honoured with the prize in 2016 and 2020 respectively, reflecting continued recognition of Pakistani civil society efforts.
French and German diplomatic teams in Pakistan congratulated Mr Satyani and emphasised that the Franco German Prize aims to support those who advance the rule of law and defend vulnerable groups.
