The Ministry of IT & Telecom’s Ignite National Technology Fund and HUM Network Limited have launched the Center of Excellence in Gaming & Animation (CEGA), a major initiative designed to develop Pakistan’s gaming and animation sector by turning local creative talent into globally competitive businesses and professionals.
CEGA will provide incubation, training and workspace to nurture the country’s gaming and animation ecosystem. Over the next five years the center aims to incubate 200 startups and train 10,000 people in gaming, animation and interactive content. In addition, CEGA will offer 100 free co-working seats to support early-stage creators and small teams.
The initiative is a public-private partnership between Ignite National Technology Fund, which operates under the Ministry of IT & Telecom, and HUM Network Limited. It combines government backing with industry experience to create pathways from skill development to commercial opportunities and global market exposure.
Federal Minister for IT & Telecom Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja attended the signing ceremony and emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering youth through innovation, digital skills and entrepreneurship. Officials said the centre will be a strategic element in broader efforts to create jobs and diversify Pakistan’s digital economy.
Equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, mentorship programs and connections to international markets, CEGA is intended to position Pakistan as a regional hub for gaming and animation. Organizers expect the centre to fuel the creative economy, attract investment, and empower a new generation of developers, artists and entrepreneurs.
