**National Workshop Strengthens Gender and Child Rights Capacities in Federal Ministries**

The National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW), in partnership with UNICEF Pakistan, has concluded a three-day workshop aimed at advancing gender equality and child rights across federal ministries. The intensive training session, held in Murree under the theme “Gender Equality & Child Rights – Pathway to Equality,” gathered Gender Focal Persons from multiple federal departments to enhance their understanding and application of inclusive policies.

The workshop focused on four key areas: Gender and Child Rights-based Programming, Results-Based Management (RRBM), Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB), and practical tools for designing inclusive policies. By targeting these topics, organizers sought to equip ministry representatives with the knowledge to mainstream gender equality and child rights within all governmental interventions and planning processes.

Chairperson of NCSW, Ms. Ume-Laila Azhar, praised both trainers and participants for their commitment during the workshop. She stressed that it is now the responsibility of every participant to ensure that principles developed during the training—particularly the adoption of a gender perspective and results-based reporting—are reflected in policy planning and implementation. Ms. Azhar highlighted the need for closer alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a metric for measuring impact, emphasizing that equality should be an integral part of every government initiative.

The NCSW expressed pride in leading this transformative effort and called on trained Gender Focal Persons to continue championing gender equality and child rights, promoting lasting change throughout the government sector.
