**UN Women Collaborates with German Embassy to Enhance Gender-Responsive Justice in Balochistan**
UN Women, in partnership with the German Embassy Pakistan, recently organized a comprehensive “Gender Data Training for Inclusive and Responsive Planning” in Quetta under the Gender Parity Project. The initiative aimed to equip key stakeholders with the skills and knowledge necessary to integrate gender data into justice and development planning, fostering more gender-responsive institutions in Balochistan.
The training session brought together a diverse group of participants from major departments involved in the justice sector, including representatives from the Police, Judiciary, Women Development Department (WDD), Levies, Planning and Development (P&D), Prosecution, Prisons, and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). Among the notable attendees was Mr. Jan Muhammad Gohar, Registrar of the Balochistan High Court, who underscored the importance of gender-sensitive approaches within the judicial system.
Held at the Serena Hotel in Quetta, the training focused on building participants’ capacity to use gender-disaggregated data for informed decision-making. The program is part of a broader effort to advance gender parity and ensure that policies and procedures are inclusive, responsive, and tailored to meet the unique needs of women and other marginalized groups.
By targeting justice and law enforcement institutions, the event sought to promote collaborative solutions for tackling gender-based disparities. UN Women’s ongoing collaboration with the German Embassy reflects a shared commitment to advancing gender equality through targeted training, capacity-building, and stakeholder engagement across Pakistan.
