Nepal Delegation Discusses Gender-Responsive Budgeting with Syed Naveed Qamar

A parliamentary delegation from Nepal met with Syed Naveed Qamar, Member of the National Assembly and Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Finance & Revenue of Pakistan, to discuss approaches for implementing Gender-Responsive Budgeting. The meeting underscored the importance of integrating gender considerations into national financial planning and policies.

The Nepalese delegation included members of the Federal Parliament: Nagina Yadav, Bhagabati Neupane, Puja Chaudhary, and Gaura Nepali. The discussions centered on sharing experiences and strategies to strengthen the role of budgeting in promoting gender equality.

Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and related government bodies attended the meeting, highlighting the commitment of both countries to pursue collaborative initiatives in the area of inclusive financial governance. The participants expressed a mutual desire to learn from one another and support policies that advocate for greater gender parity through effective budgetary practices.
