Chairman Gilani reaffirms Pakistan Qatar ties and pledges deeper parliamentary and economic cooperation after meeting Qatar envoy.

Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani met Qatar Ambassador Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater on the occasion of Qatar National Day and reaffirmed Pakistan Qatar ties, offering warm congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani and the people of Qatar while commending the progress and stability the country has achieved.

Chairman Gilani underlined that the relationship between the two countries extends beyond formal diplomacy and is rooted in shared Islamic values, cultural affinity and a mutual commitment to the welfare and development of the Muslim Ummah. He highlighted that enhanced parliamentary engagement will be central to strengthening Pakistan Qatar ties.

Welcoming Qatar’s participation in the Inter-Parliamentary Speaker Conference held in Islamabad in November 2025, Gilani described the attendance as a clear sign of growing parliamentary collaboration. He pointed to expanding economic cooperation, rising Pakistani exports and developing partnerships in the energy sector as key pillars that will further solidify Pakistan Qatar ties.

Chairman Gilani acknowledged the valuable contributions of more than 300,000 Pakistanis living in Qatar and praised their role in deepening people-to-people links. He also commended Ambassador Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater for his efforts to promote bilateral cooperation. The meeting reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to advancing mutual cooperation with Qatar across political, economic and social domains based on trust and long-term strategic interests.
