Thousands of children in Pakistan, particularly girls, continue to face barriers to education, leaving their futures uncertain. To address this challenge, the Royal Norwegian Embassy has partnered with UNICEF to support the Accelerated Learning Programme (ALP), which has reached over 6,500 children, including nearly 5,000 girls across Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh.
A delegation from the Norwegian embassy recently visited two ALP centers in marginalized communities in Peshawar. During their visit, they met with both students and teachers to observe how the program’s flexible and quality learning initiatives are helping children catch up academically, transition into formal schooling, and develop skills for better opportunities.
The partnership provides comprehensive support, including trained educators, essential school supplies, menstrual hygiene kits, and community-led networks. These efforts are aimed at ensuring that every child, regardless of circumstance, can access education and build a brighter future.
