GLOBE Pakistan Summit Advances Digital Trade and E-Commerce

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), together with the Ministry of Commerce, successfully hosted the inaugural GLOBE Pakistan Summit, signaling a significant milestone in boosting the nation’s digital trade capabilities, readiness for e-commerce, and strengthening regional connectivity.

The summit took place at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad and was formally inaugurated by Mr. Rana Ihsan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce. Keynote addresses were delivered by notable officials, including Mr. Faiz Ahmad Chadhar, Chief Executive of TDAP; Mr. Jawad Paul, Secretary Commerce; and Ms. Amna Baloch, Foreign Secretary. In their speeches, the distinguished speakers reaffirmed the Pakistani government’s firm commitment toward developing a secure, compatible, and internationally integrated digital trade ecosystem.

Highlighting international recognition and interest in Pakistan’s digital commerce potential, the summit attracted strong diplomatic representation from more than ten countries. Notably, Mr. James Dong, President of International Markets for Alibaba International, was also in attendance, underscoring the increasing global confidence in Pakistan’s capacity to emerge as a significant player in the digital commerce arena.

The GLOBE Pakistan Summit effectively provided a high-profile platform for stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to exchange views, forge meaningful connections, and advance strategic partnerships aimed at further elevating Pakistan’s readiness to engage effectively in e-commerce and digital trade.
