A high-level meeting of the Government Donors Forum was held in a committee room in Islamabad to address the timely provision and effective use of resources for health and population initiatives. Participants included the Secretary of the Economic Affairs Division, the Director General for Population, the UNFPA Country Head and other key stakeholders who reviewed funding mechanisms and international cooperation.
The forum focused on improving financial management and promoting collaborative approaches that maximise the impact of available funds for Pakistan’s health and population sectors. The Federal Minister for Health welcomed the gathering and stressed that the support of international partners is essential to strengthen services and outcomes. He emphasised the need for a coordinated roadmap to ensure resources reach priority programs when required.
Discussions at the Donors Forum covered public-private partnership opportunities, transparent fund allocation, and results-oriented planning to improve service delivery. Stakeholders agreed on the importance of timely disbursements and closer coordination between government ministries and donor agencies to enhance the efficiency of interventions in maternal health, family planning and related population programmes.
Participants committed to continuing dialogue through the Donors Forum to align donor contributions with national priorities and to monitor progress against agreed targets.
