Government pledges support for women in culture as Minister Khichi offers collaboration with PNCA and Lok Virsa to boost female participation in arts.

Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division Aurangzeb Khan Khichi addressed a seminar organised by Grow Women, praising Founder and CEO Romana Chaudhary for creating a platform that fosters cultural engagement and social empowerment for women. The event drew a large turnout from across the country, with organisers reporting a notable rise in female participation compared with previous years.

Khichi said the government remains committed to strengthening Pakistan’s cultural sector and to encouraging women in culture to take an active role in national development. He stressed that the Ministry of Culture and its affiliated institutions, including the Pakistan National Council of the Arts and Lok Virsa, stand ready to collaborate on projects that promote cultural understanding and community development.

The minister highlighted recent trends at the Lok Mela, noting that women artists outnumbered men compared with prior years, a sign of growing interest among women in culture and the arts. He urged women to continue sharing ideas and to participate in national initiatives that advance the country’s cultural landscape.

Muhammad Asim Khichi, Managing Director of the Associated Press of Pakistan, attended the seminar and commended Grow Women for promoting cultural diversity. He reaffirmed APP’s support for initiatives that showcase Pakistan’s heritage and uplift women across the country, while the minister and organisers emphasised collaboration to build stronger cultural opportunities for women.
