Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Governor of Punjab and Chancellor of Kohsar University, visited the Murree campus today to review academic progress and institutional initiatives. The visit underlined the provincial government’s engagement with higher education developments in the region.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rafia Mumtaz delivered a detailed presentation on Kohsar University’s academic growth, ongoing research projects and future development plans, outlining priorities to strengthen teaching, learning and research capacity at the campus.
The Governor formally inaugurated the newly established Professional Development Center aimed at enhancing staff training and institutional capability. As a symbolic commitment to sustainability, he also planted a commemorative sapling on campus grounds.
During discussions the Governor assured the university administration of his support and indicated plans to increase hard-area allowance and house rent for university staff to improve their welfare. The pledge was welcomed as a measure to help retain and motivate academic and support personnel in challenging environments.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rafia Mumtaz expressed sincere gratitude to the Governor for his visit and continued backing for Kohsar University, noting that the administration will pursue the outlined development goals in partnership with provincial authorities.
