Greece-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Launched in Islamabad

A new platform to strengthen business relations between Greece and Pakistan has officially been launched in Islamabad with the establishment of the Greece-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI). The initiative, driven by a Greek businesswoman, aims to build stronger trade links between the two countries and open new avenues of cooperation.
Prominent businessman and former Vice President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce, Khalid Malik, has been appointed as President of the GPCCI Pakistan Chapter. The oath-taking ceremony was attended by former caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, who praised the launch of the chamber and assured his full support in helping it operate effectively.
The event was also graced by GPCCI Europe’s founder and president, Ms. Rubina Markopoulo, who also heads the Greek-Moroccan Business Cooperation Initiative. She highlighted the chamber’s role in Europe as a facilitator of cross-border business engagement and welcomed Khalid Malik to the team, expressing confidence in his ability to boost trade relations between the two countries.
In his remarks, Khalid Malik thanked Ms. Markopoulo for her trust and pledged to use the GPCCI platform to promote commercial and economic activity in Pakistan.
Addressing the gathering, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar emphasized that Greece holds special significance for Pakistan as it serves as a gateway to Europe. He underscored the historic importance of Greece and described the launch of the chamber as a milestone in advancing bilateral relations.
The ceremony was also attended by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Turkmenistan, Atajan Movlamov, along with members of Islamabad’s business community, diplomats, civil society representatives, and media personnel.
