Islamabad — December 12, 2025: Mazhar Thathal, Chairman and CEO of the Global Trade Expo Centre Pakistan (GTEC), held a cordial meeting with Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Ch. Salik Hussain to discuss measures aimed at improving services for overseas citizens and expanding global trade ties.
The Federal Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting Pakistanis abroad and announced the deployment of dedicated ministry officers at major airports, working jointly with the Ministry of Interior and the FIA to deliver smooth, transparent and efficient services for overseas and international visitors. The minister highlighted that coordinated facilitation at entry points is a top priority for the administration.
The minister expressed appreciation for GTEC’s international initiatives and its delegation programmes, noting their role in promoting Pakistan’s trade footprint. Mazhar Thathal extended an invitation to the minister to join the upcoming Pakistan – USA Trade and Business Delegation, a move intended to strengthen investment initiatives and showcase priority sectors to American partners.
Mr. Liaqat Ali Thathal, Director International Trade & Relationship at GTEC, briefed the minister on emerging international trade opportunities and the specific facilitation measures required to attract foreign investment in targeted sectors. The minister welcomed these insights and signalled interest in further collaboration to improve trade and investment outcomes for Pakistan.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to build stronger international partnerships and provide enhanced support for overseas Pakistanis and global business stakeholders. GTEC confirmed it will continue working closely with relevant ministries to advance facilitation and investment promotion efforts.
