**RDA Commits to Resolve Water and Land Issues in Gulraiz Housing Scheme**
The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has pledged swift action to address critical water supply and land encroachment issues affecting residents of the Gulraiz Housing Scheme. The commitment was made during a meeting chaired by Additional Director General RDA, Mansoor Ahmad Khan, following directives from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who has called for zero tolerance on delays in resolving civic challenges across Rawalpindi.
At the meeting, held in the RDA conference room under the leadership of Director General Kinza Murtaza, the urgent water shortage faced by Gulraiz residents was identified as a top priority. The Additional DG instructed the Managing Director of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) to expedite the installation of tubewells as a reliable measure to improve the area’s water supply. He further emphasized the importance of exploring rainwater harvesting systems, highlighting the need for innovative and sustainable water management solutions tailored for urban communities.
In addressing the issue of property encroachments, the Additional DG directed immediate action to remove illegal structures in the neighborhood. He underscored that protecting legal property rights and ensuring adherence to land use regulations are essential for establishing a livable and well-regulated urban environment. The resolution of infrastructure challenges and the restoration of lawful ownership were presented as core components of RDA’s urban development mission.
Assuring residents that these issues would be resolved soon, the Additional DG called on all stakeholders, including representatives of housing schemes, to work collaboratively. He stressed that effective solutions can only be achieved through mutual cooperation among all parties involved.
Reaffirming the RDA’s commitment, the Additional DG highlighted the authority’s ongoing effort to enhance urban infrastructure, ensure all housing schemes comply with planning regulations, and guarantee the provision of essential services to residents.
The meeting was attended by MD WASA Muhammad Saleem Ashraf, Chief Planner RDA Muhammad Tahir Meo, Director Land Ghazanfar Ali Awan, other RDA officials, and representatives from the Gulraiz Housing Scheme.
