Advancing Harassment-Free Public Institutions Through Policy and Protection

Federal Ombudsperson Ms. Fauzia Viqar held a meeting with Additional Chief Secretary South Punjab, Mr. Fawad Hashim Rabbani, to reinforce policies aimed at eliminating workplace harassment and fostering respectful, fair, and safe public-sector workplaces.

During the meeting, Ms. Viqar emphasized the importance of integrating administrative structures with existing legal protections in order to effectively address harassment issues within government institutions. Highlighting the urgent need for robust internal accountability mechanisms, she stressed that clear procedures and transparent systems must be established to swiftly tackle complaints and maintain employee confidence.

Mr. Rabbani expressed his support for FOSPAH’s (Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment) mission. He reiterated the South Punjab administration’s commitment to implementing measures that ensure availability of safe working environments to all public-sector employees. Both officials agreed upon collaborative efforts to promote awareness, accountability, and progress through dedicated training sessions, policy reviews, and continuous oversight.

This joint initiative underscores the government’s dedication toward building harassment-free institutions, safeguarding employee dignity, and promoting an inclusive and equitable working culture across public service departments.
