Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir visited Mayo Cancer Care Hospital in Manawan, meeting patients and inspecting the new block where modern medical machinery and facilities have been installed. The visit included a close review of the equipment and direct discussions with clinical teams on its operational use.
The hospital administration briefed the minister that installation of the advanced instruments is complete, enabling cancer patients to access global-standard diagnostic and treatment services on site. Khawaja Imran Nazir examined the installed machines personally and sought technical details from experts to ensure readiness for patient care.
The minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the health sector is seeing transformative measures. He emphasized that improving treatment for life-threatening illnesses such as cancer is a provincial priority so patients do not have to travel to other cities or abroad for specialised care.
The inspection at Mayo Cancer Care highlights the provincial government’s focus on expanding local access to specialised oncology services and strengthening capacity at regional facilities to meet patient needs.
