COMSTECH and IiLM Collaborate to Host Workshop on Transforming Healthcare Leadership
In a significant step toward reshaping healthcare leadership practices in the Islamic world, OIC-COMSTECH, in collaboration with the Institute of Innovation Leadership in Medicine (IiLM), is organizing a comprehensive workshop titled “Healthcare Leadership: Global Models for Transforming Systems & Culture.” The interactive event, featuring both physical and virtual participation, will bring together healthcare professionals, policymakers, researchers, and leadership specialists from OIC member countries at the COMSTECH Secretariat in Islamabad.
Dr. Zakiuddin Ahmed, the founder of IiLM and Secretary of the Health Research Advisory Board (HealthRAB), will lead the workshop, bringing extensive experience and expertise in healthcare innovation and strategic leadership. Dr. Ahmed will guide participants through key leadership frameworks and globally successful models, offering insights necessary to develop effective leadership practices within healthcare institutions and broader health systems.
The event will formally begin with opening remarks by His Excellency Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General of OIC-COMSTECH. Dr. Choudhary, a respected science diplomat and laureate of the prestigious Mustafa (PBUH) Prize, will emphasize the importance of science and innovation in addressing the evolving healthcare challenges faced by member countries.
Structured around a four-hour interactive program, participants will delve deeply into vital topics such as situational analysis and identification of leadership gaps in healthcare systems, examination of different leadership styles and models, strategic planning principles, and exploration of global leadership frameworks and best practices.
Concluding the workshop, attendees will be given certificates and offered comprehensive, actionable strategies to apply directly within their respective organizations and healthcare environments. The session will close with a formal vote of thanks, reaffirming COMSTECH’s commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration among OIC member states.
This workshop is a flagship activity organized under COMSTECH’s Science, Technology, and Innovation Cooperation (STIC) initiative, in strategic partnership with IiLM, aimed at fostering a culture of innovation-driven and effective healthcare leadership across the Islamic world.
