Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi runs a tree plantation drive at Government Millia School with MPA Shazia Rizwan and students planting hundreds of saplings

Under the direction of the MD of Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi and in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, a tree plantation event took place at Government Millia School Rawalpindi to bolster local greening efforts.

MPA Shazia Rizwan attended the function and actively participated in planting saplings alongside schoolchildren and Horticulture Agency officials. The campaign saw the planting of hundreds of saplings on school grounds as part of a broader citywide tree plantation effort.

Speaking at the gathering, Shazia Rizwan stressed that the Punjab government is taking concrete steps to prevent and combat climate change and that increased tree cover is essential to improving air quality and reducing disease and environmental pollution. She underlined the urgent need for sustained community drives for tree plantation to make the urban environment healthier.

Teachers welcomed the involvement of students, saying the hands-on activity will deepen environmental awareness among the next generation. Children of Government Millia School expressed solidarity with the Horticulture Agencyโ€™s clean and green mission and pledged to extend tree plantation work at homes, streets and neighbourhoods.

The Horticulture Agency appealed to citizens to join the campaign and help advance the mission of a greener Rawalpindi, noting that local participation is vital to achieving long-term benefits from the tree plantation initiative.
