Minister of State for Health Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed Bharath visited Islamabad Model School for Girls (G-6/1-3) where an HPV vaccination campaign is currently underway to protect young students from cervical cancer and related risks. The visit highlighted government efforts to expand immunization access in schools across the capital.
This is not just a vaccination drive—it is a promise for our daughters’ brighter future. Every vaccinated girl is a guarantee of a safe life, a safe family, and a safe future.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Bharath emphasised that the HPV vaccination is safe, halal, and consistent with Islamic values, reassuring parents concerned about cultural and religious acceptability. He noted that countries including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Malaysia, Indonesia and Bangladesh have already integrated the vaccine into their national immunization programmes, and that the World Health Organization affirms its potential to save millions of lives.
Parents are urged to get their daughters aged 9–14 vaccinated free of cost as part of the campaign, a move aimed at safeguarding health while supporting continued education and future opportunities for girls. The focus on school-based delivery is intended to make the HPV vaccination accessible and convenient for families across Islamabad.
The minister’s visit underlined the ministry’s commitment to preventive health measures and community awareness. Families seeking information about the HPV vaccination or school schedules can follow announcements from local health authorities as the campaign continues at Islamabad Model School for Girls and other designated sites.
