IBCC and Federal Board concluded a two-day national workshop on exam digitalization with federal support to modernize assessment systems across Pakistan.

A two-day national workshop on exam digitalization and technology integration concluded at the Federal Board auditorium in Islamabad on 24 October 2025, bringing together examination boards from across Pakistan. The event was organised by the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) under the Federal Ministry of Education and Vocational Training in collaboration with the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE).

Wajeha Qamar, Federal Minister of State for Federal Education and Vocational Training, attended the second-day session as the guest of honour and praised IBCC and FBISE for advancing technology-driven reforms in the examination system. She emphasised the federal government’s commitment to support all boards in adopting exam digitalization to make assessment processes more transparent, credible and student-focused.

Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, Executive Director IBCC, opened the proceedings with welcoming remarks and urged participants to actively promote technology transfer and best practices from the Federal Board to other provincial and regional boards. He said, “I encourage all participants to play an active role in fostering the exchange of technology and best practices from the Federal Board to other examination boards.”

Professor Dr Ikram Ali Malik, Chairman of the Federal Board, outlined how digitalization reforms have been shaped under the ministry’s visionary leadership and reviewed the Board’s recent initiatives to modernize assessment delivery and management.

Dr Bashir Khan, Director (IT Management) at the Federal Board, presented a detailed Technology Transfer Framework and highlighted practical innovations including digital answer book management, e-marking (on-screen marking) and digital scanning systems. His presentation was followed by a lively question-and-answer session in which representatives from various examination boards shared suggestions and perspectives on rolling out exam digitalization across their jurisdictions.

As a token of recognition, Professor Dr Ikram Ali Malik and Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah presented a shield to Minister Wajeha Qamar for her leadership and continued support for educational reforms. Certificates were also distributed among workshop chairs and participants to acknowledge their engagement and contributions to the discussions.

In his closing remarks, Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah thanked all participants for their cooperation and reaffirmed IBCC’s role in leading and supporting the nationwide transition to exam digitalization. He noted, “Through cooperation and continuous learning we are moving towards a transparent, efficient and future-ready examination system.” The workshop reinforced a collaborative roadmap for scaling technology-based reforms in Pakistan’s examination ecosystem.
