A delegation from the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA), Government of Western Australia, led by Mr. Roshan Perera, Assistant Executive Director (Examinations, Certification & Testing), visited the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) in Islamabad. The delegation was received by Executive Director IBCC Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah and Director General IBCC Mr. Muhammad Usman Khan, setting the stage for a constructive exchange on assessment practices.
The SCSA team appreciated IBCC’s efforts in transforming assessment through conceptual examinations and the effective use of modern technology, noting how these measures can elevate reliability and fairness in student evaluation. Delegates highlighted the potential of technology-driven assessment to improve certification processes and learning outcomes.
Dr. Mallah underscored IBCC’s keen interest in strengthening international collaboration and welcomed foreign qualification awarding bodies and international examination boards to partner with IBCC. He emphasised collaboration areas such as training, capacity building and youth personality development as key to enhancing the quality and credibility of Pakistan’s education and assessment systems.
Both sides signalled a readiness to explore joint training programs, technical exchanges and initiatives that leverage digital assessment tools. The visit reinforces IBCC’s role in standardising qualifications and deepening Pakistan’s educational ties with global assessment authorities through sustained IBCC SCSA cooperation.
