IIUI Hosts Seminar on International Identity Day

IIUI, NADRA and FET marked International Identity Day to promote legal identity, student registration and the NADRA-PAK app among university students.

The Directorate of Student Affairs (Male) at IIUI, working with the Public Engagement Department of NADRA and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, held a seminar on International Identity Day at the male campus attended by faculty, staff and students.

In his welcome address, Dr. H. Ghufran, Director Student Affairs (Male), stressed the importance of legal identity for all in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16.9 and described the event as an important opportunity to raise awareness about citizen registration among the student community.

An official from NADRA’s Public Engagement Department delivered a detailed presentation on the Civil Registration Management System and Civil Registration and Vital Statistics, outlining how births, deaths, marriages and divorces are recorded and why these records matter for citizens across Pakistan.

The session also introduced the NADRA-PAK mobile application, with officials explaining its features and benefits for easy access to registration services and records. Presenters highlighted NADRA’s outreach framework, including memoranda of understanding with academic institutions to ensure coordinated awareness drives.

NADRA representatives expressed appreciation to the Directorate of Student Affairs (Male) and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology for facilitating engagement with IIUI students during the registration drive. Concluding the seminar, Dr. Muhammad Amir, Dean of FET, reiterated the significance of legal registration for every individual, particularly university students, and thanked NADRA and the Directorate for their efforts to safeguard students’ future prospects.
