Federal Minister Highlights National Unity and Cultural Heritage at Lok Virsa Independence Day Ceremony

Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi attended a special ceremony at Lok Virsa to commemorate Pakistan’s Independence Day and the Marka-e-Haq, emphasizing the importance of national unity and the country’s rich cultural heritage in the face of current challenges.

The event, attended by Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz Akbar, Secretary National Heritage and Culture Asad Rehman Gillani, and Executive Director Lok Virsa Dr. Waqas, began with a cake-cutting ceremony celebrating both Independence Day and the Marka-e-Haq. The ceremony brought together cultural leaders and officials in a display of national pride and solidarity.

In his remarks, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi highlighted that Independence Day not only serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made for freedom but also as a renewed commitment to protect Pakistan’s culture, heritage, and national identity. He pointed out that recent tensions with India have underlined the price of freedom and reinforced the need for unity among Pakistanis to preserve it. He further stated that defending the nation requires both sacrifice and unity, and assured that the people of Pakistan stand together to safeguard their homeland.

The Federal Minister toured the photo exhibition and cultural programs at Lok Virsa organized for the occasion. He commended the organizers for their efforts and remarked on Pakistan’s centuries-old cultural traditions, stating that this heritage forms a core part of the national identity.

Attendees at the ceremony paid tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistan-India conflict, reaffirmed their resolve to maintain national unity, and vowed collective resistance against any threats to the country. The event concluded with renewed pledges to protect the nation’s freedom and cultural legacy for future generations.
