Allama Ashfaq Vahidi, central leader of the Shia Ulema Council Pakistan and chairman of the OSPAC Interfaith Board, met Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider at Punjab House Rawalpindi together with Maulana Hafiz Iqbal Razvi, chairman of the Peace Committee Rawalpindi. The meeting focused on strengthening national stability and building a united response to the challenges facing Pakistan.
Allama Ashfaq Vahidi emphasized that the government should consult and take all religious and political parties into confidence on national matters to preserve the country’s collective strength. He highlighted that Pakistan’s international standing and strong defensive capability are the results of consistent national and defence policies.
The delegation pledged to actively promote interfaith harmony and to assist in spreading the message of religious coexistence both within Pakistan and abroad. Governor Sardar Saleem Haider praised the unity and peacebuilding efforts of Allama Vahidi and Maulana Razvi and acknowledged their constructive role in maintaining law and order.
Both leaders affirmed that no leniency should be granted to elements that foment violence, division or sectarianism, reiterating a shared commitment to protect peace in Pakistan. Regarding the upcoming month of Ramadan, the governor stated that security forces will carry out search operations across large and small cities and that foolproof security will remain the top priority.
