Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and US Ambassador Natalie Baker agree on joint action to curb illegal immigration and dismantle fake visa networks.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with U.S. Ambassador Natalie Baker to discuss enhanced Pakistan–U.S. cooperation on preventing illegal immigration and improving the pre-immigration clearance system. The talks focused on practical steps to curb irregular migration and strengthen bilateral coordination.

Both sides committed to stepped-up collaboration at all levels, with particular attention to police training and cooperation between law enforcement agencies. It was agreed that joint operations will be launched against fake and fraudulent visa networks under comprehensive standard operating procedures.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said a zero-tolerance policy has been adopted against the agent mafia and that U.S. assistance in these efforts would be welcomed. He underlined that he is personally overseeing action against the networks that facilitate illegal immigration.

Naqvi noted that passports have been fortified with modern technology to make travel documents foolproof, and reiterated that illegal immigration is being treated as a serious national concern. A full-scale crackdown is underway to stop attempts to reach the United States unlawfully.

According to the minister, effective government measures have led to a 47 percent reduction in illegal immigration, and those involved in producing or using fake documentation will face strict action without leniency.

Ambassador Natalie Baker reiterated that the United States places special importance on relations with Pakistan and said priorities between the two countries are aligned. She welcomed enhanced cooperation on pre-immigration clearance and other law enforcement initiatives to further strengthen bilateral ties.
