Interior Minister Leads FIA Visit to Headquarters

On February 3, 2026, Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi carried out an official visit to the Federal Investigation Agency headquarters in Islamabad to meet the newly appointed Director General, Dr. Usman Anwar. During the FIA visit, the minister conveyed his best wishes and underlined the federal government’s commitment to strengthening the institution.

Mohsin Naqvi expressed confidence that under Dr. Usman Anwar’s leadership the FIA can become a model institution, saying he would provide full support to efforts aimed at making the agency modern, strong and effective. The minister emphasised that the FIA should meet public expectations through improved performance and accountability.

Dr. Usman Anwar outlined plans to raise the FIA to international standards by adopting modern technology and enhancing training for staff. He said all necessary measures would be taken to improve operational capabilities and ensure the organisation is equipped to address contemporary challenges.

As part of the visit, the Interior Minister inspected an under‑construction committee room and discussed plans to reconstruct and renovate the FIA headquarters in line with modern needs. The reconstruction initiative forms a central element of the wider FIA reform agenda and is intended to upgrade facilities to support advanced investigative work.

The meeting was attended by senior security and law enforcement figures including the Commandant of the National Police Academy, the Director General of NCCIA, the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, and senior officers of the FIA. Participants agreed on coordinating resources and training to support the agency’s reform and modernization efforts following the FIA visit.
