A high-level consultative meeting focused on Islamabad development and the role of youth convened with key city stakeholders to discuss coordinated action for the capital. The session brought together Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman Prime Minister Youth Programme, Shahryar Memon, Focal Person Overseas Affairs and Business and Trade Linkages, and Irfan Nawaz Memon, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, for an in-depth exchange on the city’s priorities.
Participants reviewed ongoing development projects across Islamabad, considering ways to accelerate improvements in civic amenities and public services. Emphasis was placed on practical measures to enhance sanitation, traffic management and overall municipal governance to deliver visible benefits for residents.
The Chairman Prime Minister Youth Programme highlighted the central role of youth in Islamabad development and underlined the need to expand opportunities that channel young talent into national building. He urged a coherent strategy to harness youth capacities so the capital can evolve into a model, modern city.
The Deputy Commissioner outlined current administrative efforts to strengthen civic order, cleanliness and traffic systems while improving access to public facilities. The Focal Person for Overseas Affairs reiterated a commitment to attract Pakistani investors from abroad and to deepen business and trade linkages that can support local projects and job creation.
Discussion also covered measures to enhance coordination among government departments and to build stronger bridges with overseas Pakistani stakeholders to boost investment flows. Participants explored pragmatic steps to make institutional collaboration more effective and to align development planning with on-the-ground service delivery.
At the close of the meeting all attendees reaffirmed their resolve to pursue joint efforts, rigorous planning and integrated policies aimed at making Islamabad more vibrant, organized and forward looking. Follow up cooperation was agreed to ensure upcoming programs and events are implemented successfully and contribute to sustained Islamabad development.
