A high-level meeting was held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters in Islamabad to review preparations for the observance of Youm-e-Maaraka-e-Haq and Independence Day. The meeting, chaired by CDA Chairman and Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa, brought together senior officials from the CDA, Islamabad Administration, Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), Islamabad Police, and other departments.
Officials discussed comprehensive plans to celebrate these national events with grandeur and patriotic spirit, as per the directives of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Arrangements will include hoisting the national flag and decorating buildings across Islamabad. Major roads such as Constitution Avenue, Club Road, Srinagar Highway, and Jinnah Avenue will be illuminated with colorful lighting, digital streamers, and LED displays to create a festive atmosphere throughout the federal capital.
The CDA Chairman outlined a variety of events planned for the celebrations. These will feature flag-hoisting ceremonies, decorative lighting along key thoroughfares, cultural programs, fireworks displays, national songs competitions, and public events. Activities for students will include speech contests, painting competitions, national song performances, and tableau shows. Additionally, all parks and grounds in Islamabad will be lit up and decorated, and branding related to Youm-e-Maaraka-e-Haq and Independence Day will be displayed on city buses and other transportation.
Security measures are a top priority, with the Islamabad Police instructed to provide foolproof arrangements to ensure all events proceed peacefully. Security will be tight at entry and exit points, with CCTV surveillance and the deployment of special security teams at important locations across the city.
Muhammad Ali Randhawa emphasized that celebrating Youm-e-Maaraka-e-Haq and Independence Day serves not only to honor the nation’s brave armed forces but also to reaffirm national unity and resolve. He highlighted that these events symbolize the spirit of resilience, unity, and the determination of the Pakistani people to stand with their military in the face of any challenge.
