Islamabad Launches Online Women’s Police Station and “1Info” App to Boost Public Safety

Islamabad authorities have introduced an online Women Police Station and the “1Info” mobile application in a bid to improve digital policing and public safety. The initiatives were inaugurated at the Safe City Headquarters by Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who praised the efforts of Islamabad Police, led by Inspector General (IG) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and his team.

During the ceremony, Chief Commissioner Randhawa reviewed the city’s surveillance operations via a digital wall and acknowledged the police’s adoption of advanced monitoring technologies. Residents can now use the new mobile app to file emergency complaints, while a dedicated helpline (1815) has been set up specifically to support women facing emergencies or requiring assistance.

Inspector General Rizvi highlighted that Islamabad is under constant surveillance by over 9,000 cameras as part of the Safe City project. According to Rizvi, this comprehensive monitoring system has played a significant role in deterring and controlling crime across the capital, further strengthening public trust in law enforcement.
