Islamabad Traders Celebrate Independence Day Unity

The Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries hosted an Independence Day ceremony that brought together a large gathering from the business community, featuring Deputy Chairman Senate Sayedal Khan Nasir as the chief guest. The event emphasized national unity, the importance of traders to the country’s economy, and the need for greater inclusivity and positivity in projecting Pakistan’s image.

Speaking at the event, Sayedal Khan Nasir highlighted that Pakistan’s national identity unites people from across the country, from Khyber to Karachi. He described traders as the backbone of the nation’s economy and called for increased participation of women in trade organizations. He assured attendees that the government is prioritizing the resolution of traders’ issues and hinted at forthcoming positive developments for the business community.

The Deputy Chairman acknowledged the resilience of traders, praising their sacrifices and determination in the face of adversity. He pledged ongoing support, affirming that his office remains open to address the Chamber’s concerns. Paying tribute to the nation’s martyrs and the patriotism of the people of Balochistan, he remarked on the transformative potential of Gwadar, urging unity from Gwadar to Gilgit. He called upon the media to present a positive image of Pakistan internationally and to steer clear of divisive narratives about the country’s provinces.

Nasir also referenced the role of the Pakistan Army, noting its successes in defending the country and expressing determination that Pakistan would demonstrate similar strength in the economic sphere. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to combating terrorism and prayed for the safety of the country’s border defenders.

During the ceremony, Acting President of the Chamber, Sheikh Tayyab Saeed, reiterated that the nation’s identity stems from its homeland, stressing the significance of national unity. He noted that the Chamber represents 60,000 traders, including 3,000 registered members, and urged the government to involve traders in policy-making processes, highlighting their firsthand understanding of the community’s challenges.

Senior Vice President Sardar Zaheer explained that while the focus of the event was on celebrating independence, more detailed discussions on traders’ issues would take place during the next meeting.

Mian Rashid Humayun, Chairman of CIBEO Pakistan and a prominent leader of the business community, also expressed gratitude to the Deputy Chairman Senate for joining the Independence Day celebrations with Islamabad’s business leaders.

The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting and the presentation of a commemorative shield to the chief guest.
