The Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bangladesh Institute of International Strategic Studies (BIISS) to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries. The agreement aims to deepen academic and research collaboration between the two renowned think tanks.
The MoU was signed during the official visit of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, to Dhaka. The signing ceremony was attended by high-level officials from both Pakistan and Bangladesh, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Bangladesh’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Md. Touhid Hossain, and senior diplomats from both countries.
Representing BIISS, Major General Iftekhar Anis, Director General, signed the agreement, while Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Imran Haider, signed on behalf of ISSI. The ceremony was part of a wider event where multiple agreements and other instruments were concluded.
The MoU is designed to promote mutual understanding and people-to-people connections between Pakistan and Bangladesh. It outlines a structured framework for cooperation, including the exchange of information, enhancement of research and academic programs, and the sharing of experts and researchers. Both institutions will collaborate on research addressing national, regional, and global issues.
