International Youth Change Maker (IYCM) was invited to the national consultation on the Draft National Human Rights Commission Ordinance 2025, a significant step in shaping human rights policy with active youth involvement. The invitation underscored the role that young leaders can play in refining the legal framework that will guide rights protection across the country.

Abdul Hannan Milton represented IYCM at the consultation, articulating the perspectives and commitments of young changemakers focused on justice, equality and human dignity. His contribution highlighted practical concerns and recommendations from youth engaged in rights advocacy and community work.

IYCM stressed the importance of meaningful youth participation in drafting and implementing the Human Rights Ordinance, noting that policies benefit when younger generations are included in dialogue and decision making. The organization argued that youth input can improve both the relevance and accountability of the proposed commission.

Participation in the national consultation reflects IYCM’s continued commitment to elevate youth voices in national policy discussions. The organization said it will continue to engage with stakeholders to ensure the Human Rights Ordinance responds to emerging challenges and protects the rights of all citizens.
