Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation Awarded to Neveen Syed

The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recognized Ms. Neveen Syed, Chairperson of the Lahore Floritage Sogetsu Study Group, with the prestigious Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation for her outstanding contributions to strengthening cultural ties between Japan and Pakistan.

Ms. Syed has played a pivotal role in promoting Japanese culture in Pakistan by organizing Ikebana flower arrangement classes and exhibitions through the Lahore Floritage Sogetsu Study Group, a cultural organization dedicated to the Japanese art of flower arrangement. Her efforts have provided numerous opportunities for Pakistanis to learn about and experience Japanese traditions, fostering greater understanding and appreciation between the two countries.

Japan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Akamatsu Shuichi, congratulated Ms. Syed for receiving this honor and acknowledged her commitment to deepening people-to-people connections. He noted the significant impact Ms. Syed has made in acting as a bridge of friendship and goodwill and expressed hope that she will continue to advance the art of Ikebana in Pakistan.

A ceremony will be held in the future where Ambassador Akamatsu will formally present the Commendation to Ms. Syed on behalf of Japan’s Foreign Minister.
