Dr Amina Khan, Country Director of Jhpiego Pakistan, called on Dr Soofia Yunus, Director General of the Federal Directorate of Immunization in Islamabad, to discuss the next steps following a recent vaccination effort.
The conversation centred on consolidating outcomes from the successful HPV vaccination campaign and producing a Lessons Learnt Report to capture practical insights. Participants agreed that documenting campaign experiences is essential to refine delivery strategies and strengthen HPV immunization efforts across provinces.
Both sides also prioritised planning for a post-campaign knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) study to better understand community response and inform messaging and outreach. The proposed KAP study will provide evidence to guide future campaigns and help tailor interventions for higher uptake of the HPV vaccine.
Dr Khan and Dr Yunus reaffirmed their commitment to sustained collaboration to advance Pakistan’s immunization agenda and improve protection for children. They outlined immediate steps to finalise the lessons learnt report, design the KAP study and explore further partnership opportunities that support expanded HPV immunization coverage.
