JPMC Joint Committee to Resolve Administrative Issues

Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal and Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho held a virtual meeting to address administrative and operational challenges at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) in Karachi and agreed to form a joint federal-provincial committee to review problems, propose practical solutions, and ensure uninterrupted delivery of health services.

The online meeting brought together the two ministers and senior officials from the relevant health departments to take stock of the administrative and operational issues affecting JPMC. Participants examined the problems that are affecting the hospital’s functioning and discussed immediate and long-term measures to keep services running smoothly.

Both ministers stressed the importance of ensuring continuous health services for patients at JPMC. They agreed that resolving the identified issues quickly and effectively is essential to maintain service delivery and protect public health.

To coordinate efforts, Mustafa Kamal and Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho decided to establish a joint committee composed of representatives from both the federal and provincial governments. The committee’s mandate is to conduct a comprehensive review of all aspects of the challenges facing JPMC, develop effective and actionable recommendations, and identify the practical steps required for implementation.

The ministers emphasized that the committee will not only propose solutions but will also oversee the implementation process and take all necessary measures to ensure recommendations are carried out. Both officials committed to close coordination between federal and provincial authorities to resolve JPMC’s issues and safeguard uninterrupted access to healthcare services.
