Just Energy Collaboration for Sustainable Progress in Pakistan

The Just Energy Transition team at the Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives (CPDI) met with Shaista Pervaiz, Convener of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Task Force at Pakistan’s National Assembly, to discuss potential collaboration on advancing climate action and sustainable practices in the country.

During the meeting, both parties explored avenues for strengthening the capacity of the SDG Task Force members, with a particular emphasis on promoting the adoption of green building standards, supporting widespread use of electric vehicles, and introducing clean air solutions. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to address environmental challenges and encourage sustainable development across Pakistan.

CPDI and the National Assembly representatives also discussed the importance of policy reform and practical initiatives to foster a more climate-resilient Pakistan. The organizations expressed their commitment to continued cooperation and to working together to achieve long-term sustainability goals in line with Pakistan’s climate agenda.
